Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about consigning and bidding in our auctions.

For Consignors

What can I consign?
We accept coins and medals from all eras and regions – from antiquity to modern times. Particularly suitable for auction are high-quality individual pieces, specialized collections, and well-preserved coins with collector value.
How does consignment work?
Contact us for an initial assessment – in person, by phone, or via email with photos. If we're interested, we'll discuss estimates and terms. You can bring your coins in person, send them insured, or we can pick them up from you.
What are the fees?
The consignor's commission is agreed upon individually and deducted from the hammer price. You'll know exactly what costs to expect upfront – transparent and with no hidden fees.
When do I receive payment?
Payment is typically made 4-6 weeks after the auction. You'll receive a detailed statement with all hammer prices.
What happens to unsold items?
After the auction, we'll discuss the next steps with you: items can be included in a subsequent auction, offered in post-auction sales, or returned to you.

For Bidders

How can I bid?
Our auctions take place on Biddr.com. After free registration, you can submit written pre-bids or bid live during the auction. All lots are available to view in the online catalog beforehand.
What is a "pre-bid"?
A pre-bid is your maximum bid submitted before the auction. The system automatically bids on your behalf – you only pay what's necessary to be the highest bidder, up to your limit.
What additional costs apply?
A buyer's premium is added to the hammer price – the exact amount can be found in the auction terms on Biddr.com. Shipping and insurance fees apply for delivery.
How do I receive my coins?
After payment is received, we ship your coins securely packaged and insured. You can also pick up your items in person by arrangement.
Is there an authenticity guarantee?
Yes. We guarantee the authenticity of all auctioned items.
